1.2mm-Thick EVA Liners Deliver Superior Sealing for Travel-Size and Sample Containers

Jan 23,2026

January 24, 2026 – A European packaging specialist has unveiled an ultra-thin cap liner (1.2mm thickness) engineered for miniaturized containers, addressing the growing demand for travel-size cosmetics, skincare samples, and single-dose pharmaceuticals. The liner is made from high-density EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) with a microcellular structure, balancing flexibility and sealing pressure for small-neck finishes (15mm-20mm).

Key performance metrics:

  • Dimensional precision: ±0.05mm thickness tolerance, ensuring consistent fitting in compact caps
  • Seal strength: 12 N/cm² peel resistance, preventing leakage in vertical and horizontal storage
  • Material efficiency: 30% lighter than standard liners, reducing packaging weight and shipping costs
  • Compliance: Meets EU REACH, FDA 177.1350, and China GB 4806 standards for food and cosmetic contact

Ideal for lip balms, facial serums, and single-use hand sanitizers, the ultra-thin liner is now used by 2 leading European cosmetic brands in their travel product lines. "Miniaturized packaging requires liners that don’t compromise on sealing while fitting into tight spaces," said the product manager. "Our 1.2mm liner enables sleek, portable designs without sacrificing performance." The company plans to expand production to 100 million units annually by 2028, targeting the Asia-Pacific travel retail market.
